Mirrors Edge

Like many people who downloaded this from XBL market place, I was looking forward to the games release. Like many people who played the full game, I was a little let down. When I say a little let down I meant that after the 2nd level I was toying with the idea of pulling out my toenails while basting my nuts in acid. I'm not sure about the story line as I kept skipping the cut scenes, but I managed to get a rough idea. Someone kills your sister so you decide to run up walls and throw briefcases across rooftops in downtown Tokyo. Someone tricked you into doing something and the person you liked turns out to be the one who killed your sister. Oh well.
Eight levels of missing the gap the first time and making it the second time. This is a game of repetative trial and error and hours of looking at 4 walls working out how the fuck to climb them. The concept of the game is new and vaguely intresting and that's how it managed to get into the shops. If you do buy/rent this game there is an online game (when I say online, I mean you download ghost data). I beat the ONE friend who played the first level (Aaron got his ass whoooped!) then spent three attempts at doing it faster before finding myself watching the ants carry away a peice of muffin dropped on the floor by my kids.
The game looks simple with bold block colours and manga style cut scenes, but after about an hour of play the bordem factor takes it's toll.

Don't rent or buy, just play the free download for about 2 hours.

Evil or Very Mad (1 star rating)
