NASCAR 2009

Post by Scouse on Fri Jan 23, 2009 8:33 am

Not being a great lover of driving games I think this is decent. I started off with a slow ass pick-up and managed to get black flagged a record 88 laps in my first season before I managed to work out how to serve a black flag ban. I knew I was meant to go in the pitlane, but didn't realise that you had to do it UNDER the speed limit, I presumed it would automatically drop your speed. So after the first 5 or 6 times of going in the pit only to emerge with ANOTHER black flag and never seeing the green flag, I started to like the game a little better. There are challenges to do; like stay in a slip stream for 1 lap, avoid the crash without going under 70MPH, go wire to wire in pole, etc.. by completing these you unlock 1-1 races with the celebs and gain EXP and RESPECT to enhance your vehicle.
The game play is pretty good, a little slow and unresponsive (maybe cause I had a shit truck!) but it looks good and plays well. I tried the online game but waited for 5 minutes in a lobby by myself waiting to get a suitable match. Since I'm not gonna even bother trying again I cant really comment on it, which may speak for itself!
